What is a junk journal?

I get asked a lot this question and it always makes me stop and think. I guess my answer is that a junk journal is anything you want it to be. You can put down your dreams, make a grocery list, Christmas planning, prayer journal. Anything that you want to jot down and keep.

Junk journals are also art. You are taking found items and putting them all together to make something pretty. I like to test myself to use every bit of paper or material to make something pretty. Anything can go into a junk journal and it becomes art.

This Bird themed book was made from an old file folder, magazine and book cut outs, decorative card stock and music pages. Combined it makes a eye pleasing space to tuck in a note or add some journaling.
